ADI initiatives and programs
At ADI, we place the lived experiences of community members at the heart of our work, believing that communities should lead and shape the pursuit of transformational justice in the Adirondack Park and beyond. Our programming, outreach, and advocacy primarily concentrate on three areas: Safety & Belonging, Nature Stewardship and Community Building.

-
Community Policing Initiative
Enhancing the relationship between police agencies and the Adirondack communities they serve. Over the last 4 years we have trained over 160 law enforcement officers and DEC Rangers.
-
Emerging Stewards Initiative
Developing new generations of Adirondack stewards from marginalized communities throughout New York State — fostering a deep investment in the sustainability and long-term health of the Adirondack Park.
-
Cultural Consciousness Building
It’s not diversity training. Active conversations, rooted in education, tailored to the specific needs of the community, organization, or business that initiated our services.
-
ADI Symposium
A unique community gathering empowering residents, organizations, and businesses to increase understanding and enact positive change toward a more welcoming and inclusive Adirondack North Country.
-
Sustaining BIPOC Leadership Initiative
Supporting racial, social, and economic justice by empowering those who aspire to lead within their communities.
